Burlington’s Bassett chosen for North All-Star team

Burlington graduate Dalley Bassett was chosen as one of the top players to compete in the All-Star basketball game this summer. A committee of high school coaches selected the top ten to twelve players from the north and south halves of the state and the teams will meet up in July. 

Bassett joins Ella Bilyeu from Sheridan, Coy Erickson from Powell, Kamryn Farrell from Thermopolis, Taelyn Leseberg from Riverton, Breana Lincoln from Lander, Kathaya Navarro from Worland, Jayssie Owsley from Thermopolis, Chaney Reish from Tongue River and Camryn Wagner from Sheridan to compete on the North team. They will be coached by Thunder Basin’s Haley Holmes and Chelsea Hepp and Stef Garcia from Kaycee. 

Bassett finished her senior season with the Lady Huskies with an average field goal percentage of 37% and 151 points. She was a force under the basket with 184 rebounds, 33 steals and 45% from the free throw line. 

Bassett received All-Conference honors and her coach Cheryl Haslam at the end of the season had high praise for the senior, “She is a player that you can rely on in any situation. She works hard all the time and pushes herself every game. She was one of our best rebounders this year and did a great job on the inside for us but also played on the outside when we needed her to.” 

Athletes will be in Casper for the majority of the week with practices and community outreach events and all All-Star games will be held at Casper College’s T-Bird gym with volleyball beginning at 1 p.m., girls’ basketball and 3 p.m. and boys’ basketball at 5 p.m.
