Bonnie Rice Kuhry

June 24, 1947 – August 12, 2020

Greybull native Bonnie Rice Kuhry passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 12 in Yuma, Ariz.

Bonnie was born June 24, 1947, in Greybull, the daughter of Eleanor and Laverne Rice. She was raised and received her education in Greybull and graduated from Greybull High School in 1965.  She was active, always on the go and lived life to its fullest.

She had a lifelong love of horses and in her younger years participated in endurance riding in the Big Horn Mountains.

She met her husband Don in Winnemucca, Nev. They shared a passion for golf that continued until failing health made it impossible for them to play. They both made holes-in-one on the Winnemucca golf course and carried their golden putters with them for the rest of their lives.

Bonnie’s cooking skills were built around preparing a lot of good food in a family setting. Her brother John said he could never remember her icebox and freezer being understocked, although she would never admit it.

Bonnie loved her family and friends; some of her friendships extended  back to her school days in Greybull, and several of her Greybull friends now live in Yuma, Ariz. Their support and caring were very important to Bonnie, sustaining her when Don’s illness demanded more and more of her time and energy.

She was preceded in death by her husband Don on June 13, 2020, her parents and her youngest brother, Ken.

She is survived by her sister Annita Rice Karlinsey of Elko, Nev.; two brothers, Larry Rice of Cincinnati, Ohio, and John Rice of Sparks, Nev., and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
