Eleven members of the Greybull-Riverside wrestling program qualified for state at last weekend’s Class 2A West Regional.  Two sites were used with the boys wrestling in Shoshoni and the girls in Riverton.

A weekend split in matchups with Ten Sleep and Burlington left the Riverside Rebels with a No. 3 seed for this weekend’s Class 1A West Regional in Lander.  They face Farson-Eden, the No. 2 seed from the South, at 11 a.m. today (Thursday, Feb. 22) in the auxiliary gym.

The Huskies finished up the regular season with two wins on the road in Greybull and Basin. “It was a good weekend of competition before heading into regionals,” said Coach Kirby Winland. “We couldn’t ask for better scheduling with a couple away games that are still close to home to round out the end of our regular season and still against really stiff competition.”

The middle school boys basketball season ended last weekend and the Burlington teams had a successful year. 

Lady Huskies celebrate Senior Night with win

The Lady Huskies sailed past two more opponents this week and are now ranked third in 1A behind Cokeville and Upton.
Friday, Burlington traveled to Ft. Washakie where the Lady Huskies won 74-16. “The girls could not miss in the first quarter,” said Coach Cheryl Haslam. “We made three 3s. It seemed whatever they shot, it went in. It was nice to see. They were moving the ball really well on offense and playing tough defense.”
