• Police Report

The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

January 27 — Three VIN inspections were done at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO).

A VIN inspection was done at North Seventh Street.

A building check was done at Basin Town Hall.

January 28 — A patrol was done at the Basin school zone.

A person on West B Street had information for an officer.

A VIN inspection was done at the BHCSO.

A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

A business check was done at the Family Dollar.

A building check was done at Basin Town Hall.

January 29 —  A resident contacted the Basin PD to see if her dog had been turned in.

Extra patrol was done at the Basin School.

Extra patrol was done at the Wyoming Retirement Center (WRC).

January 30 — A VIN inspection was done at the BHCSO.

An officer assisted another agency on South Fourth and A Street.

A dog at large on South Eighth Street was reported.

January 31 — An ordinance violation was reported on South Eighth Street; follow up needed.

An assault occurred on US Hwy 16/20.

An officer assisted the general public on South Sixth Street.

A business check was done at the Basin Pharmacy.

A business check was done at Family Dollar.

An officer did a welfare check on North Sixth Street.

February 1 — Extra patrol was done at the Basin School.

An officer initiated activity at the school for a community event.

The sound of gun shots were reported between the laundry mat and the county shop.

A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

An officer assisted the general public at the high school for a possible disturbance.

Basin PD did a building check at the Basin Town Hall.

Februrary 2  — A business check was done at Family Dollar.

Extra patrol was done at Mount View Cemetery.

An officer assisted another agency at the Big Horn Basin Group Home.

An officer assisted the general public on C Street.

A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

A building check was done at the Basin Town Hall.

• Sheriff's Report

Jan. 27 — 11:34 a.m.: A K-9 search was carried out by deputies in Otto.

1:43 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

Jan. 28 — 12:14 a.m.: Deputies assisted the general public and carried out a wellness check in Burlington.

12:32 p.m.: Livestock abuse was reported in Basin.

4:07 p.m.: An overdue motorist was reported in Shell. The call was later cancelled.

9:01 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Burlington.

Jan. 29 — 7:02 a.m.: An accident involving a vehicle and a deer was reported in Basin.

7:23 a.m.: An accidental 9-1-1 call was received in Basin.

12:07 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Shell.

1:22 p.m.: An accidental 9-1-1 call was received in Basin.

2:10 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. 

2:51 p.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist in-need in Greybull.

9:14 p.m.: An open 9-1-1 call was received in Greybull. Dispatch subsequently handled.

Jan. 30 — 12:17 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

1:03 a.m.: An accident in which a vehicle rolled over was reported in Basin.

8:34 a.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Basin.

9:37 a.m.: Multiple VIN inspections occurred in Greybull and Otto.

9:40 a.m.: A caller reported a vehicle had lost a gas can and spilled gas on the road on Highway 20 S. in Basin.

11:16 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Otto.

12:34 a.m.: Deputies assisted the general public in Basin.

2:26 p.m.: Two dogs were reportedly at-large in Greybull.

4:16 p.m.: A missing dog was reported in Greybull. Dispatch handled.

4:30 p.m. Trista Leeann Stulc, of Worland, was arrested by deputies for violating her parole.

7:31 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

10:34 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

11:45 p.m.: Deputies conducted K-9 training at the Greybull Police Department.

Jan. 31 — 10:13 a.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Basin. All checked out okay.

10:55 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

2:12 p.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Greybull. Follow-up was required.

4:06 p.m.: Deputies assisted the general public in Basin.

4:59 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

7:33 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A citation was issued.

9:10 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Emblem. A warning was issued.

10:16 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

10:24 p.m.: Deputies followed up on their earlier business check in Greybull. All checked out okay.

11:12 p.m.: Deputies conducted an extra patrol near the airport in Greybull.

Feb. 1 — 1:40 a.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Greybull. All checked out okay.

2:51 p.m.: Deputies assisted the U.S. Forest Service.

3:20 p.m.: Deputies assisted the Basin Police Department in responding to reports of shots fired in Basin.

4:52 p.m.: An accidental 9-1-1 call was received in Burlington.

7:25 p.m.: Deputies initiated multiple traffic stops in Greybull. Citations were issued for all.

10:13 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Manderson. A warning was issued.

11:07 p.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Greybull.

11:48 p.m.: An accidental 9-1-1 call was received in Basin.

1:30 p.m.: Jonathan Robert Melville, of Sheridan, was sentenced, serving time in Basin.

4:44 p.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Basin.

7:30 p.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist with a flat tire repair in Emblem.

9:31 p.m.: Deputies conducted a business check in Greybull.
