A week after their high school season ended, six Greybull-Riverside wrestlers were in Sheridan, competing at the Wyoming Amateur Wrestling Association’s Junior State under the banner of the Greybull-Basin Athletic Club.

Elizabeth Holloway, at 155, secured the only individual title, taking first place in the Greco division.  She also competed in freestyle, placing second. She lost to Sarah Eddy, the only wrestler who beat her at the state tournament in Casper.

Bennett Sanford placed second in Greco and freestyle divisions.  After spending the year at 138, Sanford competed at 144. His only losses were to Thermop’s Cannon Boren, the 2A state champ at the weight.

Loomis Alexander, at 157, placed third in Greco, but did not compete in freestyle due to an injury he sustained in a loss to William Alt of Kelly Walsh, the 4A state champion at 150.

Melanie Perez placed fourth at 115 pounds in freestyle.

Nikoah Sorensen, at 175, was fourth in Greco and fifth in freestyle.

Levi Cochrane, at 150, finished fourth in freestyle and fifth in Greco.
