Burlington traveled to Meeteetse Friday night for a game under the lights and came away with a 48-22 win.

“That was a great atmosphere for a high school game, but night games in Meeteetse usually have a special feeling,” said Coach Trent Aagard. “We had a good crowd there and the rivalry is still going strong. Meeteetse has a good team. Moody is a very talented running back and they have a nice passing game to compliment him. I thought they battled really hard all night long. We came out and executed well early which I think gave us the advantage.”

Offensively, the Huskies fared well with 103 yards on the ground and 222 yards in the air. Kole Walker threw for 195 yards and Matt Tempany picked up 127 receiving yards. Burlington had two touchdowns apiece from Walker and Parker Cook and additional touchdowns from Taft Winters and Tempany. Trigdon Aagard and Tempany also added additional points on the board with two and three successful PAT kicks, respectively.

Defensively, the Huskies covered the field well with 37 tackles, four tackles for loss, three sacks and three fumble recoveries.

“Coach Kreider made some good halftime adjustments on defense that helped us in the second half,” said Aagard. “I thought we did a good job of running the ball when we needed to. Kole and Parker were both effective there. Matt and Taft had some impressive receptions. I thought our line did a good job blocking. It has been encouraging to see the way we have been able to develop as a team. Every week I see growth and progress and that is exciting.”

The Huskies played a JV game against Greybull on Monday night and picked up a game against Kelly Walsh’s JV team on Saturday with kickoff at noon.
