Come join the Riverside Homecoming Week activities Sept. 23-28
Riverside Middle/High School will celebrate Homecoming next week. It will be a week full of activities including dress-up days, parade, burning of the R, chili feed, football and volleyball games.
Monday’s dress up theme is ‘Merica Monday. Everyone is invited to wear red, white and blue. Tuesday is Crazy Hat Day. This excludes regular ball caps and cowboy hats; hats should be unique, fun and crazy. Wednesday is Country vs. Country Club and Thursday is Rowdy Rebel Day, which means dressing like the school’s mascot and/or wearing the colors of red, white and black. Friday is jersey day.
The public is invited to all events including a parade on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. It starts at the football field and makes it way to C Street where it will head east. The parade will turn south on Fourth Street until Myrtle, then right to the football field. After the parade the football players will play volleyball.
Thursday evening is the chili feed sponsored by the junior class. It runs 4:30 -7:30 p.m. at the RMHS Commons. The burning of the R is at 8 p.m. at the football field. This year fireworks will be a part of the celebration. The student council went before the town council to get permission. The fireworks will be done by 9 p.m.
Friday the varsity volleyball team takes on St. Stephens at 6 p.m. Saturday the high school volleyball team goes to Meeteetse for games at 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. Middle school football is here at 4 p.m. versus Kaycee. The high school football team plays Kaycee at 6 p.m.
The last event for the week will be a drive-in movie and popcorn at 10 p.m. in the high school gym parking lot.
