Carol Ann Ebright

May 16, 1949 - Sept. 12, 2025

Carol Ann Ebright, a deeply committed advocate and beloved mother, passed away Sept. 12, 2025, after a life dedicated to helping others and cherishing her family.

Born on May 16, 1949, in Sydney, N.Y., Carol’s life journey brought her to Wyoming in the late 1960s. She lived and worked in various communities throughout the Bighorn Basin before finally settling in Basin, where she was a devoted resident for over 40 years.

Carol’s life was defined by her unwavering dedication to service and compassion. For the last 20 years, she channeled her deep empathy into her true passion, working as a victim advocate for domestic violence survivors. As a survivor herself, she understood the path to healing and empowerment like few others. Carol was always there with a shoulder to lean on, an open ear, and the strength to help someone through their darkest crisis. Her commitment offered light and hope to countless individuals in their most vulnerable moments.

When she wasn’t working, Carol’s world revolved around her family, her love of football, and her beloved Kansas City Chiefs—she was a huge fan and never missed a game. She was an ever-present, cheering figure at all the activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to watch them thrive. She took immense pride in their lives, happily bragging about them to anyone who would listen.

Carol loved life and the simple joys it offered. She found peace in the mountains, often enjoying days of fishing and picnicking. She also had a special place in her heart for “her” horses and her loyal dog, Casey.

Carol is survived by her three loving children: Bryan Hetzel, William Hetzel, and Machelle Ebright. She leaves behind a cherished legacy in her nine grandchildren: Matthew Hetzel, Nathan (Kate) Hetzel, Quentin (Sierra) Fettig, Brayden Fettig, Jacob Fettig, Jared Hetzel, Cierra Hetzel, Annie Hetzel and Nicholas Hetzel, and three great-grandchildren: Sawyer, Tucker and Tripp.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and her grandson Brad Loftin.

Carol will be deeply missed and leaves behind a legacy of hope, love, and positivity for all who knew her.
