The Wyoming Office of Outdoor Recreation’s Bighorn Basin Outdoor Recreation Collaborative invites you to join them for their annual Bighorn River Blueway Trail float Aug. 23 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.   Launching at the Wedding of the Waters (400 US-20, Thermopolis) and ending at Hot Springs State Park. A cool thing. 

The chamber will be assisting the school with a military tribute night at the Riverside football game on Sept. 12. We are looking for a color guard to present the flags. All veterans and their families are invited. Cool thing. 

The chamber will have green light bulbs available as well. A green porch light indicates support for our veterans. If you would like to help, have suggestions, etc., please let us know at basinchamber@gmail.com or 307-272-6844. Cool thing again. 

Wyoming Workforce Services is hosting a hiring event for Wyoming Sugar on Sept. 4, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. 1200 Culbertson Ave., Suite F, Worland. 307-347-8173.

Chamber member news: 

• Basin/Greybull Farmers Market:  Farm and garden-fresh produce galore. Saturdays, 9 a.m. - noon across from the middle school in Greybull. 

• UW Extension - Electric Boiling Water Canning Classes - Washakie Extension office on Aug. 26, 5:30-8:00 p.m. Big Horn Federal Savings Bank in Lovell on September 10 2:00-4:30 p.m. These classes have a fee of $15 for supplies. Register by August 25 at noon for Worland’s class and by September 8 at 4:30 p.m. for Lovell’s class. 

• Big Horn County Library-Basin:  We are gearing up for back to school. We will have activities every Friday afternoon, either Chess Club, Lego Club, Board Games, or Arts and Crafts. Storytime is Friday Aug. 22 at 10:30 a.m. for preschoolers and 11:30 a.m.  for elementary age.  Friday at 2 p.m. is our Chess Club. As of this past Monday, Sandra Wyatt and Jennifer Lindgren switched management roles. 

• Three Rivers Health:  Understanding healthcare funding changes and how it will affect you discussion-Aug. 21, 6 p.m.   

• St. Andrews:   Recycle your glass at St. Andrews in Basin. There is a black bin in the parking lot (between the two brown storage bins). Please remove lids, tops, etc., from the glass bottles, jars, etc., before placing them in the bin. 

• CRC: Free developmental screenings: Aug. 21 at CRC in Basin, Aug. 27 at the Basin Library, Aug. 29 at Early Learning Garden. Call to schedule 307-568-2914. 

• Friends of Medicine Lodge:  Annual Dutch oven cooking contest and harvest games, Aug. 30, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. 

• Town of Basin:  Planned power outage, Sept. 2, 7 a.m. - 11 a.m. Please plan accordingly. 

Basin City Arts Center: Tuesday, Sept. 2, 6:30 p.m. - Games-Fun-Prizes - doors open  6 p.m. Tickets are $10 per packet. Must be 18+ to play.  

• Midway Golf:  Sept. 4-5, 2025  Green Way Ladies Tournament Ladies of Midway Golf Club vs. Ladies of Green Hills Golf. Midway is defending their championship title! Call 307-568-2255 to sign-up or sign-up in person when you drop by to play a round!!

• Gottsche:  Tai Ji Quan classes starting Sept. 9. This class helps with balance and awareness. Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. 

• Basin Community Center/Rec:  Sip and Shop vendor show, Sept. 6, 2-8 p.m. Live music, festive food and drinks.

• Worland/Ten Sleep Chamber:  Customer Appreciation BBQ, August 21, 5-7:30 p.m. at the courthouse in Worland.
