Average gas prices up more than 11 cents a gallon in Wyoming

CHEYENNE (WNE) — Average gasoline prices in Wyoming have risen 11.4 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $4.21 per gallon Monday, according to GasBuddy.com’s survey of 494 stations in Wyoming.

Prices in Wyoming are 24.4 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand $1.20 per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has increased 14.3 cents compared to a week ago and stands at $5.418 per gallon.

According to GasBuddy price reports, the lowest price in the state Sunday was $3.69 per gallon, while the highest was $5.99, a difference of $2.30 per gallon.

The national average price of gasoline has risen 7.7 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $4.02 on Monday. The national average is up 3.6 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 93.1 cents per gallon higher than a year ago, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 11 million weekly price reports covering more than 150,000 gas stations across the country.

“Average gasoline prices climbed back above $4 per gallon over the last week, with prices rising in slightly more states than they fell, as rebounding oil prices driven by the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz and ongoing Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries kept upward pressure on the market,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
