On a cold January day in 2020, the body of Jade Wagon was found on the Wind River Reservation. Four years later, no one has been charged with her murder.

I am already comfortable writing “2024” down as part of the date when I have to date something; usually it will take longer before I no longer have to think about what year it is, or have to make a correction because I forgot that it is a new year. This time around, it has been the other way around: I found myself tempted to write “2024” already in December. I have no idea why that is. But then, there are so many things I do that I am not sure why I do.

Done dreaming and ready to start living

Now that we have flipped the calendar, closing 2023, my mind reminisces of the year left behind. I am not sure exactly how or why but it seems when you get older the days tend to fly by. The days turn to weeks, then weeks to months and before you know it here you are, face to face with 2024.
