Nancy Gayle Mickelson

Nancy Gayle Mickelson passed away peacefully at her home on January 2, 2022. 

Nancy was born on May 4, 1949, to Ervin and Carmen McArthur. She was welcomed by four older siblings and would later be joined by three siblings. 

She grew up in Lovell and graduated Lovell High School in 1967 and then attended the University of Wyoming.  

Nancy was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She met and fell in love with Edgar “Ted” Joseph Mickelson, and the two were married in the Idaho Falls Temple on July 6, 1971. 

The couple had seven children, Bryan, Tawnya, Jared, Michael, Ashlee, Jason and Bradley. Nancy loved her family fiercely and was able to stay home to raise the children. She enjoyed any event that her children, and later her grandchildren, were involved in. She could be found at basketball games with her notecards, keeping the stats. She enjoyed any activity that involved her family. She always looked forward to her weekly “dates” with her sister, Barbara. 

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, son Bradley, brother David McArthur and brother-in-law Robert J. Benson. 

Nancy is survived by her husband, Ted Mickelson; children Bryan (Holly) Mickelson, Tawnya Teter, Jared (Robin) Mickelson, Michael (Shannon) Mickelson, Ashlee Mickelson and Jason (Nicole) Mickelson; grandchildren Bryanna, Jaden, McKenna, Brandon, Tyler, Summer, Libby, Iris, Ellie, Aven, Warren, Bradley and Taylor; great-grandchild Parley; sisters Barbara Janke, Marla Benson and Elaine (Jerry) Hoagland; brothers Ron (Leslie) McArthur, Steven (Susan) McArthur and Wayne (Susan) McArthur; sister-in-law Myra McArthur; and numerous nieces and nephews.  

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 8, at 10 a.m. at the
Lovell LDS Stake Center. Interment followed in the Lovell Cemetery.
