George selected to participate in Wyo.-Neb. Six-man shootout

Burlington High School senior Gideon George has been selected by Farson-Eden and Team Wyoming head coach Trip Applequist to compete in the Wyoming-Nebraska six-man All-Star Game, scheduled for Friday, June 4, at Chadron State University in Chadron, Neb.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m.

George led the Huskies in rushing with 52 carries for 609 yards, averaging 87 yards a game, and nine touchdowns. He also caught 10 passes for 220 yards and four touchdowns. He also returned a kickoff for 76 yards and a score.

George also led the team on defense with 162 points, averaging 23 points a game, 76 tackles, averaging 11 tackles a game, with 30 assisted and 46 solo tackles. He also had two fumble recoveries, an interception, two pass breakups and three blocked kicks.

George joins seven players from Farson-Eden, three players from Meeteetse and Kaycee and players from Encampment, Guernsey-Sunrise, Hulett and Hanna-Elk Mountain.

Assisting Applequist is Farson-Eden assistant coach Scott Reed, Kaycee head coach Dave Largent and Meeteetse head coach Zeb Hagen.

Wyoming currently leads the series 5-4.
