George Gottlieb Marcus died May 16, 2022 at his home in Otto, Wyo.

George was born on May 2, 1947, the oldest of four children, to Emil and Adella Marcus.

George married Linda J. Hopkin on May 20, 1968, in Denver, Colo. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple in April 1976.

George was a member of the Colorado National Guard, as well as the Wyoming National Guard for 14 years cumulatively. Throughout his life, George was a diesel mechanic, although he truly was a jack-of-all-trades.

George is survived by his wife of 54 years Linda, of Otto, Wyo. He is also survived by daughters Christie Marcus of Lovell, Wyo., Heather Marcus of Ogden, Utah, sons George Marcus Jr. (Dani, Adam, Owen, Finn) of American Fork, Utah, and John Marcus of Ogden, Utah. He is also survived by his brother Bob (Carolyn) of Ten Sleep, Wyo., and sister Steva Dooley (Rick) of Basin, Wyo.

George was preceded in death by his parents and brother Roy.

A memorial service was held on May 20, 2022 at 10 a.m. at the Otto Cemetery. The service was officiated by Bishop Jay Neves.

Pallbearers were John Marcus, George Marcus Jr., Steve Winters, Chris Bullinger, Greg Hess and Bill Duncan.

Honorary Pallbearers were Adam Marcus, Owen Marcus, Finn Marcus, Tony Nicholson, Bob Marcus and Rick Dooley.
