Memorial services for Vivian Salmela Preator will be held Monday, Aug. 2, at 10 a.m. at the Church of Latter-day Saints in Burlington. Vivian, 87, died July 24 in Basin.
She was born April 10, 1923, in Almy, the daughter of Eino Matt and Hilya Saari Salmela. She married Stanley Eyre Preator Aug. 17, 1944. They lived in Burlington for 66 years.
Vivian worked as secretary/bookkeeper for Burlington Schools and for Greybull Valley Irrigation District, Preator Brothers and Preator Grazing.
She loved to do needlework, especially crocheting and knitting, and also worked with plastic canvas and leather.
She was a member of the LDS Church and served as the church librarian.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband Stan, her parents, and her brother Bud Salmela.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Craig of Burlington and David and Judy of Greybull; a special son, Joe White, of Lovell; sister and brother-in-law, Delia and George Michaels of Burlington; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Burlington Cemetery. Memorials may be sent either to The Shack in Greybull, or to International Mission of Hope in care of David Preator, 3436 Cemetery Road, Greybull, WY 82426.
