Cremation has taken place and the cremains of Larry Dell Hodson will be interred at a later date. Larry, 74, died Jan. 8 at South Big Horn County Hospital.
Larry was born in Greybull in 1935, the son of Delbert and Mabel Coons Hodson. He spent his youth around this area. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge he worked as a hired hand in California and Texas before returning home to Basin.
Larry recognized and appreciated a good friend. Raised in the L.D.S. Church, he had an overall fondness for family. He also delighted in the liberties one could take when telling a good story.
In his younger days, Larry was a Golden Glove boxer and the physical toughness he developed then was mirrored by the toughness he showed when facing the cancer that struck him two years ago.
Larry is survived by a sister, Billie Hodson Kasinger, and her family of Powell; close friend Loraine Marchant of Basin and a son and step-daughter from an earlier marriage.
Larry’s friends and relatives are invited to gather and celebrate his life at the Stockman’s Bar in Basin Saturday, March 7 at 1 p.m.
