Mary Ann Yates

A memorial service for Mary Ann Yates will be held Thursday, July 23, at 2 p.m. at the Mountain View Assembly of God Church in Ten Sleep. Cremation has taken place and a private inurnment of the ashes will be held at a later date. Mary Ann, 69, died July 17, at Worland Memorial Hospital of a sudden illness.

She was born Dec. 19, 1939, in Worland, the daughter of William J. Warren and Cassie Hoyle. She married Rowdy Yates Oct. 17, 1972, in Evanston. After her marriage to Rowdy, the couple lived in Rock Springs, Denver, Subic Bay, Philippines and Lemoore, Calif. After returning to the Worland/Hyattville area, she and Rowdy owned and operated the Hyattville Cafe before they retired in Ten Sleep.

Her parents and her sister, Doris Kelly, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband Rowdy; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Teresa Yates of Rock Springs; her brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence “Pinky“ and Goldie Warren of Thermopolis and Hyattville; her sister and brother-in-law, Edith and Robert Fletcher of Rock Springs and two grandsons.
