Margaret Vines Goton

Former Greybull resident Margaret Vines Goton, 89, died April 24 at the Eastern Star Home in Oriskany, N.Y., where she had lived for the past three years. She was laid to rest April 28, next to her beloved husband Jim, in the Kirkland (N.Y.) cemetery.
She was born July 24, 1919, in Clayville, N.Y., and married James T. Goton June 26, 1937 in Utica. Jim and Peg lived in Greybull over 25 years before Jim died in 1991.
Margaret was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Greybull and built a shrine to the Sacred Heart of Jesus at the foothills of the Big Horn Mountains. She had a passion for socializing and was known for the “spring in her step.”
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James P. and Beverly Goton of New Mexico and Thomas A. and Judi Goton of Greybull; two daughters and sons-in-law, Irene and John Knoblock of Camillus, N.Y., and Lucyann and Charles Saul of Floyd, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Michael of Shell, Tom of Greybull, Jody Kavalouscas of Park City, Utah, Lisa Reesy of Shell, Dan Knoblock of Syracuse, N.Y., and Carrie and Christy Saul of New York; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
