Margaret Vines Goton
July 24, 1919 - April 24, 2009

Former Greybull resident Margaret Vines Goton, 89, died April 24 at the Eastern Star Home in Oriskany, N.Y., where she had lived for the past three years. She was laid to rest April 28, next to her beloved husband Jim, in the Kirkland (N.Y.) cemetery.

Hoffman places in four events; weather cooperates at Lovell meet

Riverside Rebel senior Phillip Hoffman had a strong day at the Lovell Invitational Track Meet last Saturday, placing in all four events he entered.
Hoffman took first in the high jump, third each in the 100-meter dash and 200, and fifth in the triple jump.

Good results but no new AQ or school records for Huskies

It was the same old story for the Burlington Huskies Saturday at the Lovell Invitational Track Meet — not a full roster; seniors away on their annual Senior Trip, others gone to attend a wedding. Even head Coach Albert Henderson was conspicuous by his absence, which was a bit out of the ordinary.

Getting global on the World Wide Web

In September the Basin Republican Rustler started its Web site, www.basinrepublican-rustler.com, keeping it fairly quiet while we worked on content and design. Now seven months later we have begun advertising in the print edition of the newspaper that we now have a presence on the World Wide Web.

Greybull woman killed in one-vehicle rollover

The exact cause of an accident three miles south of Greybull that claimed the life of a 43-year-old Greybull woman may never be pinpointed.
Julie Ann Faith was driving a 1988 four-door Chevy toward Basin from Greybull when she lost control of the vehicle. U.S. Highway 20 was dry and clear at the time.

New officer-in-charge at Manderson Post Office

Lenny Kawano of Powell was assigned as the new officer-in-charge at the Manderson Post Office on March 26. He said his assignment is for at least two months.

Huskies finish third overall at D&D Invitational in Worland

The Burlington Huskies and Lady Huskies combined for 277.5 points at the Worland Track and Field D&D Invitational, and after all the results tabulated, and added together, Burlington finished third overall in the school totals. The Lady Huskies came in second with 146 points and the Huskies ended up in third with 131.5.

Preator, Christiansen, Neves qualify for state

Neither sleet, nor snow nor threat of rain deterred the Burlington Huskies at the Yellowstone Sports Medicine Track meet in Cody Saturday. Burlington was derailed, at least on the varsity side, by the absence of a host of their Lady Huskies, who were attending the State FCCLA convention.
