Sheriff's Office investigates alleged sexual assault by salesman

Big Horn County Sheriff Ken Blackburn is urging county residents to be cautious following a report of a sexual assault last week in north Big Horn County. However, some misinformation has been spreading, and Blackburn also urges residents to make sure the information they receive is from a reliable source before panicking.

Water tank bids opened; subdivision revisited

In a special meeting Monday night, the Basin Town Council opened three bids for the new water tank project although the bid could not be awarded.
Mayor Phil Juillard said the bids needed to be reviewed by engineer Sherman Allred and then sent to the Wyoming Water Development Commission for approval before the council could award the bid.

The Big Horn County commissioners are considering two public hearings to listen to comments on the Big Horn County Land Use Plan revision.
The commissioners received the plan last Wednesday during the regular meeting. County Planner Jim Waller said the Planning and Zoning Commission had approved the plan and recommended approval to the commissioners. Consultant Ken Markert of MMI Consulting of Cody said the only requirement for the commissioners is to hold one public hearing prior to acceptance.
