Lady Huskies bury Kaycee after slow start
By Marlys Good
The Lady Huskies overcame a sluggish start, and got their act together in the second half to beat Kaycee 62-43 in a non-conference game played in Burlington Saturday. Burlington managed to fashion a three-point lead (11-8) at the first quarter stop, and were up by just four, 23-19 at halftime. Eight of Kaycee’s 19 points came from the foul line, which was not in Patrick’s game plan.

Huskies about to enter tougher waters
By Nathan Oster
One by one, the challengers to the top-ranked 1A team in the state have fallen.
But this weekend, the Burlington Huskies might get their toughest test to date from a 1A opponent when they travel to Ten Sleep to face the Pioneers, who have yet to lose a game this season.

Lady Rebels’ 3-0 in conference play;
beat Thermopolis, Rocky Mountain
By Marlys Good
The Lady Rebels kept their conference record spotless with duel wins over Thermopolis, 43-31, and Rocky Mountain, 50-33, last weekend. The victories left Riverside in sole possession of first place in the conference standings going into the final four weeks of the regular season.
“We played hard on both ends of the court, had great looks, and moved the ball well; we just didn’t shoot as well as we would have liked,” said Coach Cory Sova of the win over the Lady Bobcats. “We played so hard and so well together — that was the difference.

By Nathan Oster
Rosie Spinder was home with her son-in-law, Horatio Pacheco, Sunday night when she heard what she described as a “pop” coming from a kerosene heater they were using in a new addition to their home.
