The new Riverside Middle/High School and Laura Irwin Elementary schools are moving forward as scheduled.
Rick Nelson from GH Phipps said they are cruising. As of right now, the construction of the new schools is on schedule.
At RMHS, GH Phipps Project Manager Clint Moseley said they are finishing painting and applying the finishing touches. They will start painting at Laura Irwin Elementary next week, he added.
Nelson noted that they would begin site work on April 1. Site work involves curbs, gutters, sidewalks, parking lots and landscaping.
In regard to the schools, Nelson said there is great work.
Moseley said the schools would be substantially completed in September.
BHC School District No. 4 Supt. Dave Kerby said, “I am extremely pleased with the progress and quality of the new school construction. These two schools will be very, very nice. School safety, utility and efficiency have been implemented into the design and construction. The building is architecturally and aesthetically attractive and utilizes a Riverside Rebel color scheme inside.
“Rick Nelson, Clint Moseley and their company (G.H. Phipps) have been outstanding to work with throughout the process. Students and staff look forward to moving into the buildings this September.”
