‘Longmire’ author rides into Basin March 24

The author of the Longmire books, Craig Johnson, will be in Basin March 24 for a book discussion and lunch.

The event, which will be held at the Big Horn County Fairgrounds in Basin at 1 p.m., is a fundraiser for the Basin Area Chamber, American Legion Post 29, American Legion Auxiliary and Salvation Army/Basin Food Bank.

A lunch will be served featuring Stacey Lesher’s famous pulled pork sandwiches, chips, baked beans, cookies and Pepsi products.

Sky Aviation is a cosponsor and will be flying Johnson in for the event.  Also contributing to the fundraiser is Tepps Ag (pork), Security State Bank (napkins), Auxiliary (cookies) and Pepsi/Admiral Beverage (drinks). The chamber is also seeking donations of barbecue sauce, paper plates, chips and plastic silverware.

There will also be a silent auction table to benefit Felines and Friends of Wyoming. Auction items include wine and two footballs autographed by Brett Keisel.

The tickets are $15 each and are available for purchase at the Greybull Standard and Basin Republican Rustler.

  1. Hello.
My husband and I would like to join you for the Craig Johnson luncheon. Can we buy tickets at the door? We live in Burlington and will not be in Basin or Greybull before then. Can we do a will-call?

    Thank you kindly .
