Toys donated to police; available for Christmas

The Basin Police Department received a generous donation of a variety of toys and Chief of Police Chris Kampbell would like to offer them to families in need of a present or a stocking stuffer this year.

“There’s lots of different types of toys. Anyone needing a gift can contact me at the police department (568-2341) or the town hall (568-3331) and I’ll let them come and pick one out,” he said.

Kampbell said any toys leftover will be donated to the Toys for Tots program. Toys will be distributed for the Toys for Tots on Dec. 22.

The drop boxes are located in Basin at Big Horn Rural Electric, Basin Town Hall, TCT and Big Horn Co-op and in Greybull at ShopKo, Big Horn Co-op and Big Horn Federal.

The last day for toy drop will be Dec. 20. Parents will be able to pick up their packages between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Dec. 22, at the Big Horn Quilt Store in Greybull.

Parents may register their children for the program by calling the Big Horn County Healthy Families Office at 568-3500; leave a message.
