Gifts needed for Toys for Tots program

Toys are now being accepted for the annual Big Horn County Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots Christmas program.

Linda Boyce and Kimberly Koch are spearheading the organization in south Big Horn County again this year.

The drop boxes are located in Basin at Big Horn Rural Electric, Basin Town Hall, TCT and Big Horn Co-op and in Greybull at ShopKo, Big Horn Co-op and Big Horn Federal. TCT again this year is offering $5 off a customer’s bill when they bring in a toy for the program.

The last day for toy drop will be Dec. 20. Parents will be able to pick up their packages between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Dec. 22 , at the Big Horn Quilt Store in Greybull.

Parents may register their children for the program by calling the Big Horn County Healthy Families Office at 568-3500; leave a message. The office, located on the third floor at the Big Horn County courthouse, is open at 9 a.m. on weekdays. Boyce said they need name, address, phone number, child’s name, age and gender.

“The toys we collect stay in our communities and Lovell will have a collection. The whole county will be taken care of. The Marines will bring toys to us to help fill in the gaps,” Boyce said.

She added that there will be money donation jars in some business. The donation help with costs of batteries, extra items that may be needed; it could even be something for a special needs child.
